My walks

Accounts of outdoor experiences often set out to show that the feats they record are rare achievements which the author alone has done and which probably only they could have done. I don’t subscribe to that: I believe that most walks can be accomplished by most people with the right preparation, an eye always on risk management, and most importantly the passion. You don’t have to be a superhero – people who know me will attest to that – and most of the authors on this site would say the same.

I have included only brief details of my walks: a few words, a few pics, and a map with a red line across it (I like maps). I tend to shy away from accounts that have hour by hour descriptions, they can take a bit to get through unless you’re looking for specific details. However, I have included links to accounts written by authors far more talented than me who have created wonderfully chronicled pieces with amazing photography.
